Nakashima Restoration Project

Precious Pieces restored shoji screens and fusuma sliding doors for the George Nakashima Residence in Pennsylvania. We began by removing the old washi from the frames, then sanding and cleaning each grid of the shoji frames. We then replaced the old washi with Precious Pieces’ durable Film Backing Washi so it withstands everyday use.
